With us, you’re guaranteed two highly experienced and completely dedicated cinematographers with over three hundred weddings under our belt and nine and a half years of working as a team. From the booking process and consultation, to the editing, sound track selection and package design, we’ll take care of you.
We create documentary-style wedding films because we’re passionate about your love story and want to record each genuine moment as it naturally unfolds. Additionally, we have the tools and the artistic vision needed to transform each story into a truly cinematic experience that is driven by the beautiful words said at your wedding and stunning visuals unfolding in front of our eyes at your wedding. Our films capture everything from that twinkle in your partners eye as you walk down the aisle, the heartfelt vows that made even your grumpiest relative cry, to each beautifully written toast. That is us: husband & wife and partners is all things life & Parfait Productions.
Quick facts: We’ve been married 8 years, have a loving fur baby girl named Bo. She’s a Turkish Angora. She loves tuna and camping! As a couple, we love pastor tacos, Yin yoga, French pastries and hosting wine and cheese nights in the winter. We also grew up a neighbour apart but didn’t meet until after undergrad. We’re both born and raised Calgarians! We can’t wait to get to know you!

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?
Ixchel & Justin, the owners and primary cinematographers have been filming weddings for 9.5 years each and have accomplished over 300 weddings together. Justin came from a professional broadcast Television background prior to filming weddings full time. Team work makes the dream work around here. Parfait Productions has been recognized by Junebug Weddings as one of the top wedding cinematographers in the world for over 5 years running. The couples who work with Parfait trust our experience and vision, this allows them to sit back and enjoy the day.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
Parfait Productions takes pride in offering our couples the top of the line cinematography, lighting and audio equipment. Our gear is ever changing to keep up with the latest technology to ensure the highest quality image for our couples. Our kit includes several Canon C200’s, Canon EOS R5, Canon L Series lenses, Aputure 300X, Shure Wireless Microphones, DJI Ronin S and more :)
DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF THE ALBERTA?
Yes! Some of our most popular films were filmed outside of Alberta :)
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
Yes, we require a 50% non refundable initial payment & signed agreement to hold your wedding date with our team. Our booking process is digital!
DO YOU WORK WELL WITH OTHER WEDDING VENDORS?
Absolutely! We believe successful wedding days are rooted in collaboration. We believe the wedding day is about our couples and their families, not about awards, Pinterest boards or our portfolios. Vendors love us and we love them. Our relationships with others is our top priority outside of filming weddings and taking care of our couples. In the pre production stage we ensure we personally reach out to each vendor we will be working closely work with, to ensure a smooth and collaborative wedding day. We have been fortunate to film many wedding professionals weddings, from photographers and cinematographers to planners. Wedding vendors are one of our top referral streams. If your wedding is within the Canadian Rockies, we’re bound to have worked with at least one of your wedding professionals.
DO YOU OFFER RAW FOOTAGE?
Raw footage is available as an add on to your wedding film collection. This is all the wedding day footage ( Yes, ALL of it!) put onto a hard drive and mailed to your residence. This is a wonderful option for couples wanting to see everything. Footage that doesn’t make it into the chosen film collection can be enjoyed! Outtakes and bloopers included! This upgrade can be added on after the wedding film collection has been delivered or at time of booking.
HOW MANY CAMERAS DO YOU USE FOR THE WEDDING DAY?
Our goal is to discreet while ensuring the scope of the wedding is covered. The number of cameras used at any given period of the day depends on the portion of the wedding day being captured and the scope of the space. For audio driven periods such as the ceremony and wedding reception toasts, we use anywhere from 2-4 cameras. This provides a well balanced view of the wedding day and many amazing angles to select from when editing. For prep and the portrait session, one camera is used per cinematographer.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO ENSURE PROFESSIONAL QUALITY AUDIO?
Audio is what makes a wedding film different than wedding photography. Audio is everything! We take great pride in ensuring the audio is captured at the highest quality possible. We hope you can hear the difference when you watch our films. Some of this process is Parfait’s secret sauce and the other half is being prepared and doing the research prior to the wedding. For the audio driven periods of the day, we ensure there are at least 2 audio recordings to ensure no audio is ever compromised or over modulated.
DOES PARFAIT PRODUCTIONS OFFER SAME DAY EDITS?
We offer Same Day Edits based on two factors, our availability and also the wedding day timeline. We want to ensure the wedding day timeline is realistic for achieving a high quality Same Day Edit to play at your wedding reception. Often a Same Day Edit requires us to have an assistant to work behind the scenes to ensure everything is running smoothly while our primary editor, Ixchel is hard at work. We create a handful of Same Day Edits a year, they’re certainly exciting to create and nothing beats our couple and their guests enjoying the film that very night! Whats sets our SDE’s apart is that it is a 3-5 minute fully mastered Highlight Film, with the same vision and detail of our Highlight Films that take us week to edit together!
