I'm Ixchel Carolina—Ix for short.

I'm the Co-Founder, Owner, and Creative Director of Parfait Productions. Born and raised in Calgary, I've been shaped by over a decade working in film, a passion for design, human connection, world travel, the visual arts, growing up in the '90s, my studies, and a colourful family heritage. My mother is French, so Parfait has always meant far more to me than a layered dessert.

In the last fifteen years, I've documented over 500 weddings across eight countries. My co founder and I grew this idea from a baby seedling to a full service video production studio specializing in wedding films.Parfait’s ability to capture wedding days in a discreet manner while achieving clean audio and stunning visuals has always been the priority. The technical side of filming such an important day has been paramount to our unique filming and audio technique. Capturing a wedding and doing so with discretion is unlike other forms of film.

From The Castle in the Rockies to intimate celebrations in cozy local restaurants under candle lit, every wedding has reminded me that life is precious and each love story is singular. The words exchanged on your wedding day are the cornerstone of the narrative that tells the story in your film.

Parfait believes remarkable celebrations are built long before the wedding day. They begin with thoughtful planning, exceptional creative partners, and a couple who care deeply about their relationship and the experience they create for their guests. Our role is to document that vision with discretion, precision, and an understanding of what matters most.

Along the way, I've led an incredible team of cinematographers, mentored wedding filmmakers from around the world, collaborated with exceptional planners and creative partners, and welcomed students from SAIT's Television, Broadcast & Media program into our studio. In 2018, Parfait Production launched Atelier Parfait, powered by our associate team and a desire to create with less perimeters, a less is more approach.

Many of our clients value privacy above publicity, and we consider that trust one of the greatest compliments we can receive. Our reputation has never been built on being seen. It's been built on being recommended.

Travel has shaped the way I tell stories. The Louvre taught me to slow down. The Museum of Modern Art in New York taught me that art is deeply personal. Two people can stand in front of the same piece and walk away with entirely different emotions, memories, and meaning. Wedding films are no different. Living abroad taught me curiosity and independence, while sharing meals around a table with strangers reminded me that connection is universal.

My father walked me down the aisle. Years later, I held his hand as he took his final breath. Those moments forever changed the way I see weddings.

A wedding is more than a celebration. It's one of the few moments in life when everyone you love is gathered in the same room. Your vows become part of your family's history, and the people who shaped your life become part of that story.

We've spent more than fifteen years documenting celebrations across cultures, landscapes, and traditions. Every wedding has taught us something about hospitality, craftsmanship, and human connection. That perspective informs every frame we create.
