Paula + Joe | Fairmont Banff Springs Wedding | Highlight Reel | Banff Wedding Videographers
A Summer Fairmont Banff Springs Wedding
Where do we begin? We won't ever forget Skyping with these legends for the first time. Paula and Joe described their wedding style, their connection to Calgary, how they met, the couple's favourite french restaurant in Philadelphia and their love of the LOVE monument by fame sculpture Robert Indiana in the John F. Kennedy Plaza. All these elements were integral in the decor and feel of their wedding day at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff, Alberta this past July.
We couldn't have been more honoured to capture this wedding. From the fabulous love story, to the talented vendors, this day was incredible! The immense love amongst the families, the strong bonds between all the bridal party and the amazing dance moves- the day was indeed memorable! There were many many unforgettable moves on the dance floor...and a choreographed dance spanning all the bridal party and families! We have to thank DJ Fayyaz for keeping the dance floor going late into the night! Notice a change in Paula's dress in the film! She wanted to switch things up late in the evening on the dance floor and reveal a shortened gown!
Thank you to Julianne Young Weddings for keeping the day on track and making sure Paula and Joe had their vision come to life!
Enjoy the Highlight Reel of Paula & Joe's wedding day! Paula and Joe also decided to go with our new Cinematic Film option, which is a 25 minute feature film covering their entire wedding day, from morning to night! There will be all new footage and moments for this full edit! Thank you again Paula and Joe, you were such a genuine and fun loving couple- we could do it all over again!
Also, special thanks to Bloom Invites for the custom title for the Highlight Reel film!
Big hug!

A Wedding Pavilion Wedding
We met Danielle and Mike for coffee last summer and instantly knew their wedding day would be beautiful, sentimental and a family affair. We love seeing how the two families can come together at the wedding.
What stood out the most for us were Danielle and Mike's vows. Here are the highlights of their wedding day and the heart felt vows. Did we mentioned their dog was at the ceremony? You won't want to miss the pup's appearance in the film!

Kayla + David's Wedding Highlight Reel
From the moment we met David and Kayla for coffees this past fall, we knew their film would be something special. Their relaxed nature and kind personalities were contagious, we couldn't wait for their wedding!
This was our last winter wedding of the season! We came prepared for a winter wedding. The weather was on our side that February morning. From the stunning views and incredible natural light flooding into Kayla's parents breathtaking lake front home, the morning went by smoothly. Every detail of the wedding was precisely planned. From the stunning floral arrangements with hints of pinks and purples to the purple lighting at Southview Alliance Church. The ceremony space was incredible, from the lighting, decor and service.
Kayla and David are meant to be. We know it, and you will too after you see the film. From the way David looks at Kayla, you just know he loves this girl-we think all their friends and family can agree! We will let their highlight reel tell you all about their love story and incredible romance. Massive thank you to their guests for executing a perfect grand exit!
Thanks for sharing your day with us! Congrats!!

Kristy + Chad | Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise | Winter Wedding
Introducing Kristy & Chad from Regina, Saskatchewan!
The air was crisp Friday afternoon in Lake Louise, the day before the wedding. Which coincided with Valentine’s day! What a romantic weekend for a mountain wedding! We're excited to tell you more about this incredible wedding!
We let Kristy, the bride know we would love to capture any pre wedding day gatherings that friday afternoon. Some of the family decided to go skating on Lake Louise! We had to join them! It was great to connect with the family before the big day and watch them skate around.
The next morning we were up and ready to capture the day! The moment we saw Kristy, she was beaming with joy and happiness. She was so thrilled and grateful to have so many of her friends and family in Lake Louise for the weekend. Her suite had the most beautiful jaw dropping views! I think everyone took a moment to take in the beauty of the mountains. It was a great meeting point for friends and family to pop in and greet the bride! Kristy’s genuine love for her family was truly touching. It was a family filled day for sure ! What a trek it was for many of the guests, mostly coming in from B.C. and Saskatchewan.
Justin spent time with Chad and his friends that morning. Chad’s little nephew was there too. What a cutie! Justin captured Chad reading a letter he had written to Kristy. How touching! You can tell how much he loves this girl! The full letter will be in the extended film!
On to the ceremony- It look place in the centre of Banff, at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. It was cozy and charming. Kristy’s grand father led the ceremony. We loved his anecdotes of his time spent in Lake Louis in years past. Additionally, watch out for the Ring Bear in the film!
After the ceremony, Abby Photography took us around to various locations around Lake Louise for the photo period. What a blast it was to work with this award winning duo!! While out on the lake, there were tourists checking out the sights. Many children stopped to admire Kristy and claimed she was an ice princess, it was really cute! She truly was though! Kristy and her mom came prepared with cozy boots, with matching jackets and gloves! Their bond and friendship was one to admire! They laughed and enjoyed having their photos taken in this winter wonderland.
Later was the champagne reception back at Chateau Lake Louise. Complete with Kristy’s cousins managing the guestbook station. What stood out the most for us, were the two gowns and photos set up in the room. These were her two grandmother’s wedding gowns and photos of them on their wedding day. We love family mementos. It’s really what weddings are about, families coming together and sharing memories amongst each other.
The reception was stunning with black, ivory and champagne decor. We loved the floor plan, complete with a combination of long tables and round. The guest favour’s were custom M&M’s! What a great idea! Everyone needed a chocolate fix, since after all it was Valentine’s day weekend! (Yes, it’s a weekend now..not just a day!!- Let your lovers know.) We had those the next day on the car ride home to Calgary! Thanks guys!
Last but not least! The guests were invited to change into something more casual for what was to come, as the reception was black tie/formal. I captured the guests as they gathers for the ride to the barn. Waiting at the meeting point was a lovely hot chocolate station set up by the Fairmont. We then took a short slay ride over to the Brewster Barn.
Kristy and Chad are the perfect match. From the moment we met a few months back over Skype, to the emotion in their vows, to the way Chad looks at Kristy. They understand each other, respect each other and best of all, can have a good laugh together. They are so laid back, which we loved too! The newlywed's even have some mean dance moves. Upon entry to the barn they had a whole dance routine planned. Part way into their choreographed dance, close family joined them!!! So good! Everyone was beaming and enjoying the moment. The party was then in fun swing!
It’s genuine couple’s like this who remind us why we were filmmakers and passionate about love stories. What an absolute pleasure and honour it was to spend the day with Kristy & Chad in the mountains. We are over joyed with happiness for this couple! Congrats!!!
Enjoy the film!

Nicole + Chris! A Friday The 13th Wedding!

Nicole + Chris | A Friday The 13th Wedding
Introducing Nicole & Chris! This non-traditional wedding is one for the books. Who doesn’t love a BBQ, loving friends, a sunny afternoon and black cats! These guys are near and dear to our hearts. They are always giving to others but their wedding day was all about them and their vision. They do know how to plan a pretty sweet wedding!
We couldn’t have been happier for Nic + Chris to finally tie the knot. Many couple’s who have been together a long time don’t see the point in getting married ( crazy hey?!) , they think nothing will change. Nicole recently told me that things are different and she’s happy they are married now. From a name change, tossing around the words “ my husband” and shinny new hardware, marrying your best friend isn’t so bad after all ;)
They had a quiet engagement; the couple didn’t want to make a big fuss about it. Chris and Nicole had been together about 10 years and wanted to plan a wedding they wanted, when they felt the time and date were right. Nicole IS the most organized and sweet person I know. Not only did I work with/for her during my university days at a coffee shop, but we’ve remained friends and a source of support and strength for each other. She’s always putting others first and finally on her wedding day; it was all about her and Chris. They wanted a small intimate wedding, with a focus on friends and family. They had exactly that!
Nicole’s got a big heart and Chris has a genuine caring attitude! A perfect match!! Chris is a happy go lucky guy; he can make anyone crack a smile. In his vows he promises to make fun of her everyday! I love that! The two met in the 12th Grade, I believe it was about the last day of school. You never know where young love will go… and here we are in 2013, they are stronger than ever, committed to each other and ready for what life has in store for them.
Chris and Nicole are individuals, through and through. They stand by their personal values and don’t let the status quo take over! From the 13 tattooed on Nicole’s shoulder, to their love of black cats, they truly don’t believe in this whole notion of bad luck. I don’t either! My parents were married on a 13th and were both born on 13’s! They’ve been together over 40 years now. See it’s not that bad guys!?!
Nicole and Chris knew they wanted to get married on a Friday the 13th. They then looked up every Friday the 13th in the calendar for the next few years. Now that’s dedication! Then the location was set, Fish Creek Park it was! The spot were the couple had some of their earlier dates.
The invites were sent out, fitting the theme perfectly. A charming deer grazed the cover! The date was set, Friday, September 13th, 2013. Their lucky number all wrapped into one date! We were honoured when Nicole invited us to the wedding.
During the reception, we invited the guests to come say a little message on camera to the couple. Nicole and Chris’s friends and family rocked!! The most enthusiastic crowd we’d seen in a while. This upgrade has become very popular! It’s something special to look back on for years to come. Sometimes I have to go into the crowds and invite guests by guest to come over to our booth! These guys were great and weren’t too camera shy!
Now back to the wedding details! You guys already know how awesome these two are. Now let's meet them! Here’s a run down of the day:

Most Unexpected Moment: The police being at the site of the wedding, an hour before the ceremony was scheduled to start! I kid you not; the medical examiners were there! Pretty scary stuff! They cleared the scene and we were good to set up and continue on. Nicole was thrilled to have a few photos in front of the cop car! That’s pretty bad ass!
We will let the video tell you the story of their day. Enjoy the show!! Congrat’s guys! Special thanks to Cheryl Sawin for supplying the photos for their Blu ray's!
